Farm show in Portsmouth

A vaudeville-inspired performance on its way to Portsmouth explores the question of where our food comes from. Pontine Theatre will host “The Little Farm Show” from Friday to Sunday, Jan. 27 to 29.

Performed by the Highland Lake, N.Y.-based North American Cultural Laboratory Theatre, “The Little Farm Show” offers a musical extravaganza about sustainable food systems and organic farming. Tannis Kowalchuk and Brett Keyser play the Magnificent MacDonald Twins, who trace the history of agriculture from the inception of the solar system to the Millicent’s farm, questioning how our food choices affect our bodies, the environment and society.

The show takes place at Pontine’s West End Studio Theatre at 959 Islington St. in Portsmouth. Show times are Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 4 and 8 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $24, available at www.pontine.org.
