Congressional candidate forum

On Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 7 p.m., Farmington Town Hall will host a Congressional Candidates’ Forum for three political hopefuls seeking the Democratic nomination for New Hampshire’s First Congressional District seat.

The three candidates are former Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter, Joanne Dowdell and Andrew Hosmer.

Shea-Porter, of Rochester, lost her seat to Congressman Frank Guinta in 2010 after serving two terms. Dowdell, of Portsmouth, was elected as a delegate to the 2008 Democratic National Convention, served as secretary of the New Hampshire Democratic Party and was appointed an at-large member of the DNC in 2009. Hosmer, of Laconia, is general manager of the family-owned automobile business AutoServ. This is his first time running for political office.

Strafford County register of deeds Leo Lessard, a former state senator and moderator of the town of Milton, will moderate the forum. The state primary election is on Tuesday, Sept. 11.
