New fire chief in Dover
Richard Driscoll was recently sworn in as Dover’s new fire chief. He earned the position with 30 years of service on the Dover Fire and Rescue crew.
Driscoll was appointed chief in July and took his oaths of office during a public open house at the Liberty North End Fire Station on Aug. 29. The lifelong Dover resident was sworn in by city clerk Karen Lavertu.
Driscoll has been with the force since he was just 19 years old and most recently served as assistant fire chief. He was appointed interim chief after former chief Perry Plummer resigned earlier this year. Driscoll was selected to fill the post permanently following a national search for a new fire chief.
