Dover adds online financial info

 

In an effort to strengthen public participation and government transparency, the city of Dover has added a new resource to its website, providing access to thousands of financial documents. Budget Revealed is available at www.dover.nh.gov.

The link includes financial records and information on purchase orders, employee wages and more. A searchable database allows residents to track how their tax dollars are spent. There’s also information on the budget process and government finances.

City manager Mike Joyal (who earned about $134,000 in 2010, according to Budget Revealed) said he hopes the new program will encourage residents to get involved in the annual budget process.
