Seacoast companies get job training grants
Gov. John Lynch recently announced that seven New Hampshire companies received Job Training grants in January, including two Seacoast businesses.
Lynch reinstated the Job Training Fund in 2007, distributing up to $2 million in matching grants each year to help companies train new workers and retrain existing employees. More than 8,500 workers in the state have received training through the program.
Among the January grant recipients were R.F. Hunter, an oil filtration equipment company in Dover, and Laminated Films & Packaging, a packing company in Portsmouth. Other recipients included Millennium Integrated Marketing in Manchester, We Care Health Services in Auburn, Monadnock Paper Mills in Bennington, Sturm Ruger & Co. in Newport, and Keeney Manufacturing Co. in Winchester.
The grants totaled more than $137,000 and will help train 400 workers
