Dover seeks volunteers for conservation update
Dover residents interested in helping guide the city’s plans for conservation and open space have a chance to chime in. The Planning Board and Planning Department are seeking volunteers to serve on a committee to update the city’s Master Plan.
The committee will oversee work on the Conservation and Open Space chapter of the Master Plan, which is updated by the Planning Board every five to 10 years.
The committee will include five to seven members with diverse interests and areas of expertise, who will work closely with the Planning Department and provide opportunities for public participation. The process will take about six months.
The 2000 Master Plan led to several conservation efforts, including the formation of the Dover Open Lands Committee, which has preserved more than 700 acres over the last nine years by partnering with public and private conservation groups. The new volunteer committee will develop other recommendations for the future.
Those interested in serving on the steering committee should contact city planner Steve Bird at 603-516-6008 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
