Ballroom hosts Helm, Raitt and others

The Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom’s 2012 schedule is beginning to take shape, with several concerts lined up for spring and early summer. Among the highlights are living legends like Levon Helm and Bonnie Raitt.

The year’s first show is the Levon Helm Band with openers Los Lobos on Friday, March 30. The former drummer and backup singer for The Band has remained active as a multi-instrumental country rocker. Tickets to the show are $36 to $70.

The season continues with Human Nature’s Motown Show, presented by Smokey Robinson, on Thursday, May 3. Tickets are $30 to $58.50. Then comes blues and rock guitarist Joe Bonamassa on Friday, May 25, for $52 to $89.

Bonnie Raitt hits the beach on Wednesday, May 30, for $36.50 to $80.50. The long-time blues singer-songwriter and guitarist’s visit comes about a month after the scheduled release of her new studio album, her first since 2005.

On Sunday, June 24, the Happy Together tour comes to the Ballroom, featuring members of The Turtles and The Monkees, as well as Gary Puckett & The Union Gap, The Grass Roots, and The Buckinghams. Tickets are $30 to $60.

Rounding out the early announcements is Badfish: A Tribute to Sublime, on Saturday, July 7. Tickets are $18 to $23.

All shows are 18-plus except Badfish, which is open to all ages. For tickets and more information, visit www.casinoballroom.com or call 603-929-4100. The Casino Ballroom is at 169 Ocean Blvd. in Hampton.
