The Low Anthem headed to Portsmouth
To get a sense of The Low Anthem’s wide appeal, just take a look at the acts they’ve toured with over the last couple of years. The list includes Iron & Wine, Emmylou Harris, The National, The Avett Brothers and Ray Lamontagne.
The Providence-based indie folk band will play a concert at South Church in Portsmouth on Saturday, Feb. 25. Presented by 3S Artspace, it’s the last stop on their current North American tour and their only show in New England.
The Low Anthem made national waves with the 2009 re-release of its second album, “Oh My God, Charlie Darwin.” Their most recent album, “Smart Flesh,” came out last February. They also released a free album in December under the alter-ego Snake Wagon, available for download at www.lowanthem.com.
The show begins at 7:30 p.m. at South Church, 292 State St., Portsmouth. Tickets are $20, available at Bull Moose locations or at www.3Sarts.org.
