A benefit for the love of Pete

More than a dozen acts will perform at an upcoming concert to benefit Peter Donovan, a local artist soon to undergo open heart surgery. “For the Love of Pete” takes place on Wednesday, July 6, at the Buoy Gallery in Kittery, Maine.

Performers at the show will include Guy Capecelatro III, Clem, Dave the Wave, Peter Duchesne, Mara Flynn, Asa Irons, Moses Irons, Northern, Offset Needle Radius, Jim Rioux, Ted Sink, Bob Sprankle and John Truth. There will also be a silent auction featuring arts and crafts from numerous artists, as well as gift certificates to restaurants, massage therapists, bookstores and music stores.

The silent auction begins at 5 p.m. and the music follows at 8 p.m. at Buoy, 2 Government St., Kittery, Maine. The cover charge is $10 (free for children), with proceeds helping to offset medical and living expenses for Donovan, who will be unable to work for at least two months following his surgery in August.
