Camp Creek replaces Nateva

The second annual Nateva Music and Camping Festival was canceled this summer, but another event will take its place in Oxford, Maine. The Camp Creek festival, headlined by jam titans Max Creek, will take place at the Oxford Fairgrounds from Friday to Sunday, Aug. 5 to 7.

The festival will feature more than 30 acts from around New England, including a number of bands from the Portland area, such as Rustic Overtones, The Mallett Brothers Band, Gypsy Tailwind and This Way. Other regional groups on the bill include the Ryan Montbleau Band, The Brew, and the Ron Noyes Band, as well as Boston acts like the Sam Kininger Band and Adam Ezra.

Max Creek came together 40 years ago in Connecticut and began presenting the Camp Creek festival annually at locations around New England. The festival took a hiatus beginning in 2008 but now returns to fill the slot previously reserved for Nateva at the Oxford Fairgrounds. Max Creek will headline on Saturday and Sunday nights while other acts perform on several stages throughout the weekend.

Three-day camping passes are available for $80. For more information, visit www.maxcreek.com.
