classic albums performed live in Salisbury: For those of us born after the 1960s, opportunities to see The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd perform their greatest hits live have been sparse, at best. But Classic Albums Live aims to recreate the experience as accurately as possible. They’ll play several shows at the Blue Ocean Music Hall on Salisbury Beach this summer.
Formed by Craig Martin in 2003, Classic Albums Live is a unique tribute band that performs entire recorded albums, note for note, in live settings. The group bypasses all the gimmicks and impersonations of typical cover bands, instead focusing on precise replications of long-beloved rock music.
The band will perform The Beatles’ “Abbey Road” on Thursday, June 16; Led Zeppelin’s “Led Zeppelin 2” on Thursday, July 14; Pink Floyd’s “The Dark Side of the Moon” on Thursday, Aug. 18; and AC/DC’s “Back in Black” on Thursday, Sept. 15.
Each concert is $20 and begins at 8 p.m. at the Blue Ocean Music Hall, 4 Oceanfront North, Salisbury, Mass., 978-462-5888, www.blueoceanhall.com.
rising phenom Seth Glier in Dover: He’s only 22, but Massachusetts resident Seth Glier has already toured around the country, shared the stage with James Taylor and Mark Knopfler, and received comparisons to Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel.
Fresh off the release of his latest album, “The Next Right Thing,” Glier will perform at the new Rivermill at Dover Landing on Friday, July 29.
Glier is a pianist, guitarist and pop songwriter who dropped out of the Berklee College of Music after one year to start touring. He now performs more than 250 shows per year, garnering lofty praise from USA Today and Livingston Taylor, among others. “The Next Right Thing,” which came out in January on MPress Records, includes several songs about his “artistic hometown” of Northampton, Mass.
The show begins at 8 p.m. on July 29 at Rivermill, 2 Washington St., Dover, 603-343-2192, www.rivermillnh.com. Tickets are $15.
