Teens play library benefit in South Berwick
Young musicians will converge at Marshwood High School in South Berwick, Maine, for a teen concert to benefit the new town library. Sobopalooza for the Library, featuring two dozen local talents, takes place on Saturday, May 7.
Among the performers will be acoustic singer-songwriters, guitarists, fiddlers, banjo players and a jazz pianist. The headliner is 2008 Marshwood grad James Gilmore, fresh off the release of his new CD “Free Questions for Answers.”
Proceeds from the concert will go to Friends of the South Berwick Library, which has committed to raising $1 million to help the town turn a former church building on Young Street into a new library. The suggested donation is $10 for adults or $5 for students. Reservations are available at 207-384-5921.
The show begins at 7 p.m. on May 7 at Marshwood High School, 260 Route 236, South Berwick, Maine.
