Community dance for community radio

Guests at the VFW Hall in Portsmouth can dance the winter blues away with music from The Jeannie Daniels Band while raising money for their friendly neighborhood radio station. The show on Saturday, Jan. 29, will benefit Portsmouth Community Radio WSCA 106.1 FM.

Singer Jeannie Daniels and her New Hampshire-based quintet perform dance music blaring with R&B, motown, rock, soul and swing. The group’s performance at The Hall will offer plenty of room for dancing and a cash bar.

Proceeds from the 21-plus event will support WSCA, an independent, non-profit, Seacoast radio station operated by volunteers. Tickets are $10, or free for those who become Portsmouth Community Radio members.

The music begins at 8 p.m. on Jan. 29 at the VFW Hall, 236 Deer St., Portsmouth. For more information, call 603-430-9722 or visit www.wscafm.org.
