One last caw for the Crowes

On their Web site, The Black Crowes offer a video retrospective titled “20 Years of Tall Tales.” In a series of short Webisodes, lead singer Chris Robinson describes touring with Aerosmith in 1990, getting thrown off a ZZ Top tour in 1991, appearing on the cover of High Times magazine in 1992—on up through the years to the present day.

It’s an entertaining tribute to a rock band that has sold upwards of 30 million CDs over the last two decades, beginning with their multi-platinum debut “Shake Your Money Maker.” The Crowes recently released a new double album called “Croweology,” which includes 20 rearranged tracks from the last 20 years. They’re in the midst of one final tour before a hiatus of indefinite length. That tour will bring them to the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom on Sunday, Oct. 24.

The show is now sold out, but if you happen through the parking lot behind the Ballroom, you might just hear the fading reverberations of a modern rock legend in its twilight. The concert begins at 8 p.m. at 169 Ocean Blvd. in Hampton.
