Montgomery and Whitford on their way to Salisbury Beach
Back in February, Boston-bred harpist James Montgomery rocked a concert at the Rochester Opera House with Aerosmith drummer Joey Kramer. This weekend, he’s returning to the area with another Aerosmith alum—rhythm guitarist Brad Whitford. The James Montgomery Supergroup, featuring Whitford and the Boston Horns, will play the Blue Ocean Music Hall in Salisbury, Mass., on Sunday, Oct. 10.
It’s a reunion of artists who helped establish Bean Town as a hard rock hub in the early 1970s, along with acts like the J. Geils Band and Boston. Montgomery, who now lives in Rhode Island, has collaborated with everyone from James Cotton to Bonnie Raitt to Kid Rock. Whitford has played guitar for The Bad Boys from Boston for close to 30 years. The Boston Horns are a seven-piece funk, jazz and soul band.
The show begins at 8 p.m. on Oct. 10 at the Blue Ocean Music Hall, 4 Oceanfront North, Salisbury, Mass., 978-462-5888, www.blueoceanhall.com. Tickets are $30.
