Laurel Brauns returns to Hush Hush
After several years on the West Coast, singer-songwriter Laurel Brauns is returning to Portsmouth to perform at the same venue where she first introduced her music to Seacoast audiences, went on to book a music series, and then said her farewells before heading west. Brauns will be at The Red Door in Portsmouth for a gig in the Hush Hush Sweet Harlot concert series on Monday, Sept. 13.
Now living in Bend, Ore., Brauns formerly lived across the street from The Red Door and was in charge of booking shows for the Hush Hush series. Since moving to Oregon almost exactly three years ago, she has started a band called the Sweet Harlots, which has played a number of festivals in Bend and done a couple of tours around the state. She plans to release a new album in the fall.
Somerville, Mass., musician Danielle Doyle and Minnesota band We are the Willows are also on Monday’s bill. The show begins at 8 p.m. at The Red Door, 107 State St., Portsmouth, 603-373-6827. The door charge is $5.
