Music and stories in Portsmouth

Multitalented local artist Lucie Therrien will offer an evening of French and English music sprinkled with historical anecdotes in Portsmouth later this month. The concert takes place at the Discover Portsmouth Center on Sunday, Sept. 26.

Therrien is a woman of many trades, having worked as a songwriter, author, poet, historian, recording artist, linguist, filmmaker, mixed media artist and teacher. She has a bachelor’s degree in piano performance and a master’s in music history, both from the University of New Hampshire. She’s performed on five continents and released 15 CDs, plus several DVDs, videos and books.

The show begins at 2 p.m. on Sept. 26 at the Discover Portsmouth Center, 8 Islington St., Portsmouth, 603-436-8433. Tickets are $10 for the general public or $7 for members of the Portsmouth Historical Society.
