Benefit show at Brick House
Area musicians are rallying to help a local woman who is struggling to cover the cost of her cancer treatment. A fundraising concert to benefit Betty Spencer will take place on Friday, Aug. 13, at the Dover Brick House.
The show will feature experimental acoustic band NSI, Dover-based pop-rockers When Geeks Unite, Dover singer-songwriter Anthony Vito Fiandaca, and Dover-based folk duo JH and the Dreadlocks.
Spencer was recently forced to close her home daycare business after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer in May. Her husband lost his job last year after the company he worked for shut down. The couple does not have health insurance and currently lacks any form of income. All proceeds from the concert will go toward Spencer’s chemotherapy and other medical costs.
The show begins at 9 p.m. on Aug. 13 at the Dover Brick House, 2 Orchard St., Dover, 603-749-3838. The suggested donation is $5.
