Sound and music unite for Subtonic
Zev Yoga Studios will host an evening of music and yoga in downtown Portsmouth on Tuesday, July 27. The music will come from world fusion pioneer Randy Armstrong, who will play guitar, sitar and Lakota flute, while yoga teacher and meditation facilitator Jonas Zev guides the motions.
Armstrong, cofounder of Do’a World Music Ensemble and Unu Mondo, has performed around the world and appeared on more than 30 albums, blending world styles on numerous instruments for an eclectic sound.
Zev, a full-time yoga teacher since 1997 who has studied in India, helped found YogaEast in Portsmouth and Yoga 5 in Western Massachusetts and now teaches classes at his Zen Yoga Studios.
The event begins at 8 p.m. on July 27 at 16 Market Square in Portsmouth. The cost is $20. To reserve tickets, call 603-501-9292.
