Bar-goers in Portsmouth can get a weekly fix of funk every Wednesday night this summer at The Wet Bar, downstairs at The Page Restaurant. TVP Records and its Flush crew will host live music, DJ sets and special guests throughout the season.

Led by keyboardist Scott “Sir Buck” Ruffner, Flush is a local band specializing in live downtempo grooves, hip-hop and soul. The residency at The Wet Bar will include a variety of offerings each week, with a laidback, funky vibe and drink specials. Images from local artists or photographers will appear on flat-screen monitors.

The music begins at 9 p.m. at The Wet Bar, 172 Hanover St., Portsmouth, 603-436-0004. There is no cover.

Also this week, The Flush: Funk & Fashion show will take place at the Portsmouth Gas Light’s third-floor nightclub on Thursday, July 1. The event begins at 9 p.m. at the Gas Light, 64 Market St., Portsmouth, 603-430-9122. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door.
