Wynonna hits the Hall
Kentucky-bred singer Wynonna Judd will bring her arsenal of country hits to The Music Hall in Portsmouth on Sept. 5. Tickets to the show are on sale now to Music Hall members and will be available to the general public on July 10.
Wynonna, as she is simply known to fans, is a five-time Grammy Award winner who has recorded 20 number-one hits and sold more than 30 million albums over the last 26 years. She rose to stardom in the 1980s as half of the duo The Judds alongside her mother Naomi. The band split in the early 1990s and Wynonna embarked on a solo career, releasing several certified platinum albums.
Her latest disc, released in May, is a collection of her top singles called “Love Heals.” Proceeds from album sales go to the Wounded Warriors Project, an organization that assists wounded veterans and their families.
Tickets to the show are $65 to $80 and are available at The Music Hall, 28 Chestnut Street, Portsmouth, 603-436-2400, www.themusichall.org.
