new owner expands Nellie Woe’s

Nellie Woe’s Comics ’N Such has expanded business hours and a larger inventory under the new ownership of Stanley Konieczko, who is taking over the store in its third year.

“I’ve got big plans for the store,” said Konieczko.

Konieczko is adding more than 20,000 comics to the store’s stores, as well as hundreds of new titles to the selection of graphic novels, which includes everything from independent titles like “Sandman” and “The Walking Dead” to the latest from Marvel, DC and other publishers.

The store is now open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday; from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Jason Santo, former owner and founder, said he and wife Sheri opened the store to bring together fans of comic books, art and movies. “I’d say that mission was accomplished in a big way,” he said.

They sold the store primarily because they weren’t able to be there enough for the day-to-day operations to grow the business, he said.

“Stanley saw what we built and decided that he could make it even better without changing the look and the vibe of the place—two parts of the store that kept her excellent customers coming back,” Santo said.

Nellie Woe’s Comics ’N Such is located at 493 Central Ave. in Dover. For more information, call 603-750-0057 or visit www.nelliewoe.com.
