Francesco Dellamorte (Everett) has a thankless job as caretaker of the Buffalora Cemetery. In addition to the usual duties of digging graves and raking leaves, he also has to kill the reanimated corpses that rise from the graves on a regular basis. But the zombies are only a minor annoyance to Dellamorte, who desperately wants to leave the cemetery or, at the very least, find another companion besides his fat, slobbery co-worker (Hadji-Lazaro).
