ArtPM returns in February

The third annual ArtPM Challenge kicks off on Wednesday, Feb. 1. Artists are once again encouraged to invoke their creative powers and complete one original piece of visual art in the month of February.

First held in 2010, ArtPM is modeled after the RPM Challenge, which urges musicians to record an album in February. During its first year, ArtPM called for four original pieces of art, but organizers Jocelyn Toffic, Al Mead and Tristan Law narrowed it down to one piece in 2011, emphasizing quality over quantity.

Submissions must be dropped off at Buoy in Kittery, Maine, on March 1 between noon and 7 p.m. The finished work will be included in a group show at Buoy in early March. For more information, find the ArtPM Challenge on Facebook.
