Holiday crafts fairs: York Art Association and Rollinsford farmers market

 

York Art Association’s annual craft show: The York Art Association presents its annual, fine art craft show on Saturday, Nov. 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the American Legion Hall in York, Maine. 

There will be a wide array of crafters present, including potters, jewelers, photographers, a candle maker, textile artists and wood turners.

Anne Gately will be selling her popular quilted bags; Cathie Cantara, Mary Sweeney, and Mary Spencer will bring their pottery; Julie Ann LaBouvé of Charming Interiors will offer soy candles, Martin Fosburg will demonstrate his work as a wood turner, and Douglas Coleman will exhibit his photography. There will also be journals by designer Victoria Kapsambelis of Blue Shutters Studio and handicrafts by Southwestern Designs and Penumbra Textiles. Harriet Turkanis of 04107 Designs will be on hand with her crochet and vintage inspired jewelry, as well as jeweler Joy Raskin.

crafts for sale at winter farmers’ markets: Wentworth Greenhouses in Rollinsford will again host seven crafts markets during the coming winter farmers’ markets, beginning on Saturday, Nov. 19, and continuing on select Saturdays through March 24. 

Ten regional crafts people are scheduled to participate in the sales, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. this year. They include The Original Woodchuck, Creative Cloth Puppets, Kit Cornell Pottery, Lagasse Baskets, Leather Artisan, Green Parrot Designs, The Bean Bin, Robbin Ray Stone Jewelry, Ink Drawings by Gene Matras and William Mitchell Serigraph Prints.

Live music will be provided by acts such as Courtney Brocks and Jesse Dold, Poor Howard Stith and Mike Rogers, Julie Harper, Kurt Ehrenburg, Mike and Mike, and The Salt River Band.
