Artwalk coming to Kittery

Inspired by the wealth of intriguing art exhibits coming to Kittery, Maine, in September, Drift Gallery owner Ali Goodwin decided to mount a coordinated campaign. Goodwin called other gallery owners and artists around town and rapidly put together plans for the Kittery Art Walk on Friday, Sept. 10, from 5 to 8 p.m.

At least nine galleries across town will participate in the event, including Drift Gallery, Just Us Chickens, Haley Art Gallery, Buoy, Paradise Gallery, The Red Door Pottery Studio, Gail Sauter Studio, Five O’Clock Fox, and D. Pratt Framers. In addition, several artists will host open studios at the Wentworth Dennett School on Government Street, including Lisa Noonis, Terry Braun, Randy Olofson, Barbara Edelman and others.

Among the new exhibits will be “Tangles & Snarls” at Drift, “Stix and Stones” at Just Us Chickens, and “Renegade Revisited” at Paradise. Haley Gallery will offer a dinner series called “Art & Dine” with Terra Cotta Pasta’s Kevin Cambridge from 6 to 9 p.m. A number of restaurants and other shops also will be open.
