Two Cape Canaveral security guards recently became fascinated with a locked room, to which they had no key. Eventually gaining access, they found themselves in a long-abandoned room which housed some unusual space suits - suits which turned out to belong to a nearly-forgotten Cold-war era program to put a manned reconnaisance platform into space, according to a recent NASA release.

One suit was designated "008" with the name "LAWYER" and once belonged to Lt. Col. Richard E. Lawyer; the other suit had no name but was designated - and we are not making this up - "007."

After nearly five weeks stuck in a Martian sand dune, NASA's rover Opportunity has at last broken free and is again on the move, according to a recent NASA release.

"After a nerve-wracking month of hard work, the rover team is both elated and relieved to finally see our wheels sitting on top of the sand instead of half buried in it," said Jeffrey Biesiadecki, a rover mobility engineer.
