The 2004 Skyhaven Air Show was held this past weekend, Aug. 21 and 22, at Skyhaven Airport in Rochester. Most of Saturday's events were postponed due to the poor conditions, but Sunday saw clear skies and good crowds.

Janet Holmes of Ossipee Valley Aviation, the group that organizes it, estimates that 12,000 people came out for the event, which featured aerobatic displays, fly-bys, skydiving presentations, scenic helicopter rides, bands and vendors.

"It was nice to have such a great turnout on Sunday, and such great weather," said Holmes. "It was phenomenal."

At the air show were a number of privately owned and restored antique fighter planes, including a CJ-6 Chinese training plane from the 1950s and an F4U-5NL Corsair, an American fighter used during the Korean War.
