The Strafford County Democratic Party headquarters at 286 Central Ave. in Dover will officially open for business with a ribbon-cutting and grand opening reception Thursday, Aug. 5, at 6 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

"Strafford County voters are lining up behind the Kerry-Edwards ticket," said County Democratic Chair Carole Appel in a press release, "We're a united party and are going to be working hard through November 2 to win the county, the state and the nation for John Kerry."

The headquarters is located at the corner of Central Ave. and Hale St. across from Dover's City Hall and will be the focal point of this year's effort to elect the Kerry-Edwards ticket as well as Democratic candidates for other federal, state and county offices. All nominees for governor and Congress will be finalized in the Sept. 14 state primary.
