Doris "Granny D" Haddock, the 95-year-old who took on incumbent U.S. Sen. Judd Gregg during last November's campaign, was hospitalized last week for surgery to remove a tumor in her throat. The surgery is likely to cost her her normal voice, according to Dennis Burke, a long-time friend and editor of DemocracyWeek.org, Granny D's Web site. As of Monday, Feb. 7, Granny D was on her way out of intensive care and is expected to make a full recovery, according Burke. Those wishing to send cards can send them to: Doris Haddock, Room 134A, One East Building, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, 1 Medical Center Drive, Lebanon. |
