The Great Bay Estuary Commission will next meet on Friday, May 19 at 8:30 a.m. at the state Department of Environmental Services office located in Pease International Tradeport. The commission will discuss the four options for regional wastewater treatment that were recently presented by the Seacoast Region Wastewater Management Study. Portsmouth city officials will host a community workshop on sustainable practices on Saturday, May 20 at 8:30 a.m. at Portsmouth High School. Workshop attendees will discuss how the city can use sustainable practices to promote energy efficiency and cost-saving measures.

Budget meetings continue in Portsmouth and Dover this week. On Wednesday, May 17 at 7 p.m., the Dover City Council will hear budget presentations from three departments: human services, community services and the library. On Tuesday, May 23 at 6:30 p.m., the Portsmouth City Council will hold a workshop session on the municipal budget. All meetings are open to the public.
