Portsmouth’s St. John’s Episcopal Church will participate in Interfaith Power & Light’s “Spotlight on Global Warming,” a nationwide, inter-religious screening of “An Inconvenient Truth.” More than 70 other churches in Maine and 4,000 churches nationwide will show the film in early October, according to a press release from St. John’s.
The screening is free and starts at 6:30 p.m. St. John’s will provide educational materials to attendees and a question and answer session with local climate change experts after the film. Childcare will be provided in the nursery for small children, and children ages 5-9 can watch a movie on environmental stewardship for kids.
Interfaith Power & Light is a nondenominational, nonpartisan ministry that helps congregations of all faiths reduce global warming emissions.
St. John’s Episcopal Church is at 101 Chapel St., Portsmouth. For more information, call
Sarah Brown at 207-438-9160.
