The state Democratic Party is using YouTube to add an unexpected twist to the campaign season. The Union Leader reported on Sunday that volunteers have been filming Republicans on the campaign trail and has twice posted the resulting clips on YouTube, the popular video-streaming Web site.
“This is a whole new genre of political communication,” Democratic party spokeswoman Kathleen Strand told reporter Scott Brooks. The clip features 2nd District Republican incumbent Charlie Bass at the 2006 Bi-State Republican Columbus Day Dinner at Lake Morey Resort in Fairlee, Vt., commenting on Mark Foley, “Sandernistas” and more. The 9-minute clip has been viewed 8,500 times.
