The West End Business Association will meet Wednesday, July 12, at 5:30 P.M. at Café Espresso, 738 Islington St., Portsmouth. All business owners and residents of the West End are invited to attend. At their last meeting, the association decided on what constitutes the West End (the area between Islington and Middle Streets and Maplewood and Maplewood Ave. and Greenland Rd.) and established goals the association would like to accomplish, including improving the West End’s pedestrian access and foster the concept of the West End as a unique and vibrant commercial and residential area, separate from downtown. The July 12 meeting will feature speaker Nancy Carmer, Portsmouth’s Economic Development Program Manager.
