The U.S. Small Business Administration is seeking nominations by Nov. 21 for the 2007 N.H. “Small Business Person of the Year” and other small business champion award winners.
“This is a great opportunity for employees to recognize and nominate the owner of the business they work for, or for chambers of commerce, economic development organizations, banks and civic organizations to nominate deserving individuals in their community to be recognized for their entrepreneurial achievements, small business advocacy and contributions to the local economy,” said William K. Phillips, SBA’s N.H. district director, in a press release.
The guidelines are available online at www.sba.gov or by calling Amy Bassett in SBA’s Concord office
at 603-225-1606.
The SBA also recognizes the accomplishments of individuals or organizations dedicated to supporting small businesses. Champion awards include: Women in Business, Minority, Veteran, Financial Services, Home-based Business and Small Business Journalist. Other awards include the Young Entrepreneur of the Year award; a Family-Owned Small Business of the Year award, which honors a family owned and operated business that has been passed from one generation to another with at least a 15-year track record, a Woman Business Owner of the Year award and a Small Business Exporter of the Year award.
Winners in all categories will also be honored at a “Salute to Small Business” luncheon held in New Hampshire in May 2007.
