The Great Bay Chapter of the American Red Cross is asking Seacoast residents to nominate those who have had a positive impact on their community for a hero award.
“In our eyes, a hero is not only one who has saved a life but a person who has made an impact from their life of service, or has done something extraordinary that should be recognized,” says executive director Sarah Cherne in a press release.
Nomination forms are available online at www.greatbayredcross.org or by calling 603-766-5440. The nominating deadline is Friday, Sept. 15.
Nominations are being sought for the following categories: Military, Adult Good Samaritan, Youth Good Samaritan, Life Remembered, Humanitarian, Police/Fire and Medical, for those who have left a special legacy through service to their community and country. A heroic act must have occurred, and the hero must reside in one of the following cities or towns: Barrington, Brentwood, Danville, Dover, Durham, East Kingston, Eliot (Maine), Epping, Farmington, Greenland, Hampton, Hampton Falls, Kensington, Kingston, Kittery (Maine), Kittery Point (Maine), Lebanon (Maine), Lee, Madbury, Middleton, Milton, Milton Mills, New Durham, Newmarket, New Castle, Newfields, Newington, North Hampton, Nottingham, Portsmouth, Rochester, Rollinsford, Rye, Seabrook, Somersworth, South Hampton, Strafford or Stratham.
