Forty people participating in the Dover Waterfront Design Task Group Survey have confirmed aspects they’d like to see included in the project. A discussion of the results was planned to take place Monday, Dec. 18.

“We’ll review and discuss the results then and see if we can come to consensus regarding what recommendations we’d like to pass along to the Waterfront Committee,” says committee chairwoman Joyce El Kouarti.

Some of the responses included the strong wish that the area be user-friendly for local residents, with convenience shopping and access to the water that’s not precluded by tall or overly large buildings or waterfront restaurants.

Kouarti says that the committee has not cemented a development deal with Dickinson Development, as reported in the local media. The company is currently committed only to creating a concept and design for the project, under the guidance of the Waterfront Committee.

Hard copies of all surveys received are on file at the Dover Planning Office at City Hall, 288 Central Ave.
