This year’s student body presidency race was packed with five tickets on the ballot, and the amount of controversy that came out of the election was just as large.

The winners of this year’s student body president and vice-president ticket are Sean Kelly and Ashley Lemarier. They pulled out of the election with 1,011 votes, 295 higher than their closest competition, Danny Estremera and Selina Taylor. Estremera and Taylor were disqualified from the election on April 19, making their votes obsolete.

Estremera showed up with a crowd of about 20 supporters at the April 23 Student Senate meeting and unsuccessfully protested for a new student body election. The debate over whether to hold a new election lasted through 2 a.m.
