New local acoustic duo Open Window has teamed up with the United Way of the Greater Seacoast to donate live music to non-profit agencies in need of entertainment. The duo, comprised of John Shore of Portsmouth and Kevin Ronkko of Dover, is offering up to three hours of live music for fundraisers, receptions and other events for non-profits in need of live music.
Their set list draws on pop music from the ’70s to today, said Shore in a press release.
“Open Window is a new musical project,” said Shore, “and we want to make supporting our community a big part of our efforts.”
The pair will work through the United Way of the Greater Seacoast’s GoodsMatch Web site, a clearinghouse that provides a connection between individuals and companies with items or services to donate and non-profit organizations. The 243 local non-profit organizations registered with the United Way Volunteer Action Center receive weekly updates of available donations that are posted on the Web site. Then the agency contacts the donor directly to work out the pick-up details and scheduling.
