Jodi Picoult, one of the country’s top-selling authors and a Hanover
resident, will write a five-issue run of DC Comics’ “Wonder Woman” next
year, according to a recent article in the New York Times. Picoult’s
latest novel, “The Tenth Circle,” features a comic-book artist as
protagonist and mixes some graphic novel elements into the pages. The
novel debuted at No. 2 on the New York Times’ best-sellers list in
March.
“When I was approached by DC, I was completely taken aback that they were even thinking of me,” she told the New York Times. “It’s completely an honor.” Picoult told Jennifer Contino of Comicon.com that DC editor Matt Idelson’s wife was a fan of her writing and pushed a copy of “The Tenth Circle” into his hands. Allan Heinberg, a writer for “The O.C.” on Fox, is currently writing the first five installments of the multi-part series, and Picoult will pick up at issue six, due in stores in March, according to Contino.
