The Blue Mermaid is offering Caribbean-style turkey dinners for take-out this year. Dinners include a deep fried turkey (12-14 pounds), red bliss potatoes mashed with a bit of roasted garlic (five pounds), sweet potatoes mashed with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg (three pounds), green beans sautéed with shallots and butter (three pounds), a pint of cranberry mango chutney, two quarts of gravy and sweet cornbread flavored with cheddar and smoky chipotle peppers.
The Portsmouth restaurant is taking orders until Nov. 16. The fully cooked dinners, which come with re-heating instructions, will be ready to pick up on Wednesday, Nov. 22. For more information, call the Blue Mermaid at 603-427-2583.
