The October issue of Food & Wine magazine lists the New Hampshire State Liquor and Wine Outlet on Interstate 95 in Hampton as one of America’s 50 Most Amazing Wine Experiences.

The mention praises the outlet’s location and wide variety of wines, which includes about 2,000 different wines covering every major category in the world wine market.
Food & Wine magazine honors many notable resorts, restaurants and expos, but the Liquor and Wine Outlet in Hampton is the only state-controlled liquor retail outlet selected for this prestigious award, according to a press release from the state Liquor Commission.

New Hampshire is one of 18 states in the nation where the government directly controls the distribution of alcoholic beverages and is responsible for the regulation of alcoholic beverages. Income from liquor sales contributes over $100 million to the state’s general fund each year, according to the commission.
