Jewell Towne Vineyards of South Hampton recently earned awards at prestigious regional and national competitions. The 11-year-old vineyard brought home eight medals from the Northeast Gold Wine Competition at the Eastern States Exposition in West Springfield, Mass., including the honor of being named “Best wine of New Hampshire” for their Cayuga White, which also took gold. Jewell Towne also took an additional nine medals at the Amenti del Vino competition in Mystic, Conn., including a gold for their Riesling. The Amenti del Vino society is the oldest wine society in the Northeast.
Nationally, the winery took six awards at the 2006 Indy International Wine Competition, the largest wine competition in the United Sates, and two at the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition held in Rochester, N.Y.
