jump into ‘A Bootfull of Fish’
Bulkhead Pictures, which recently held a screening of their short film “The Listeners” at The Strand in Dover, is preparing to shoot A Bootfull of Fish on the Seacoast in September.
The comedy, which is about 20-25 minutes long, will be directed by Michael Gillis and photographed by Jonathon Millman. The script was written by Lars Trodson. They hope to shoot the film in and around Rochester on two consecutive weekends. The film has a cast of about 15 speaking parts, a musician or two, and a few dancers.
If you’re interested in trying out for the film, whether you have previous acting experience or not, send a photo and brief biography or resume, or just a note about your interest, to Bulkhead Pictures, PO Box 396, Rollinsford, NH 03869.
One extra note from the folks at Bulkhead: “You have to be a nice person to get involved. The production team believes that great work can be done with a smile on your face.”
Artstream presents Filmstream
Artstream in downtown Rochester has announced Rochester’s first short film festival. Short subject films in any genre will be accepted for review for Filmstream, a mini film festival event on Nov. 19. There are two categories—high school/college student and everyone else—and two awards in each category—judges’ choice and audience choice.
Among the judges will be Beth Rigazio, co-screenwriter of the major motion picture Raising Helen and the made-for-TV movie, Go Figure. The Filmstream award statues will be created by Durham artist Jane Kaufmann and presented by the Filmstream staff. Any film of 15 minutes or less completed after Jan. 1, 2004 is welcome. Early submission deadline is Aug. 30 (fee: $15); late submission deadline is Sept. 30 (fee: $25).
Visit www.artstreamstudios.com or call 603-330-0333 for complete submission guidelines.
