The New Hampshire Film Office has updated its Web site, which now
includes a list of New Hampshire-linked films currently on the boards.
Last updated Jan. 12, it mentions the following films in production:
• “A Bootful of Fish,” a short feature currently shooting on the
Seacoast and produced by Bulkhead Pictures, the folks who brought us
“The Listeners” in 2005 (www.bulkheadpictures.com)
• “Death & Glory,” a feature to be shot around the state in
June and produced by Back Lot Films, creators of “Old Man Dogs” and, in
2005, “Dangerous Crosswinds” (www.deathandglorythemovie.com)
• “Adam’s Deadline,” a short film to be shot in Claremont and
Manchester by producer Todd LeComte, line producer Andy Probasco and
director Pamela Preston
It also mentions several films in post-production, including:
• “Dribbles,” a feature film shot around the state in 2005 and featuring a soundtrack by Portsmouth’s own The Whatnot (www.dribblesmovie.com)
• “Live Free or Die,” an out-of-state, bigger-budget independent
feature shot in Claremont in October, starring Aaron Stanford, Paul
Schneider, Michael Rappaport, Kevin Dunn and Zooey Deschanel
• “Sensation of Sight,” another big project, but this time from
a local production company (www.eitherorfilms.com), shot entirely in
Peterborough in the fall of 2005 and starring David Strathairn, Ian
Somerhalder, Daniel Gillies, Jane Adams, Ann Cusack, Joseph Mazzello,
and Elizabeth Waterston. Seacoast-based Mark Constance is one of
several producers; Buzz McLaughlin is executive producer and Aaron J.
Wiederspahn is the writer and director.
Speaking of Web sites, the Maine Jewish Film Festival (March
18-26 in Portland) offers a sneak peak at this year’s festivities,
including three more days of programming, five more screenings, and an
expanded Closing Film and Party at the Portland Museum of Art.
Online are descriptions of the films as well as information about guest
artists, post-film discussions and parties. Tickets go on sale Monday,
Feb. 20.
Mark Dole, founder of Hatchling Studios, will be a guest
on Portsmouth Community Radio’s “Culture Waves” on Thursday, Feb. 9.
Dole, a state Film Commission member, will likely talk about the
state’s current projects as well as Hatchling’s latest computer
animated adventures, including “Ctrl+Alt+Del,” the animated version of
the popular online comic strip created by Tim Buckley in 2002 (online
at www.ctrlaltdel-online).
The animated series is scheduled for launch on Feb. 1. One new
four-minute episode will be released every month, online at
www.cad-animation.com. Blind Ferret Entertainment of Montreal, which
hired Hatchling for the project, will also pitch the animated series to
television networks.
