Seacoast short to premiere at Dover's Strand Theater on May 12. In a rare opportunity to see local talent on the big screen, The Listeners, an original movie created by local actors, writers and producers, will premiere the Strand Theater in Dover on May 12. The 17-minute feature was directed by Michael Gillis of Rollinsford, photographed by Jonathon Millman of Dover and written by Lars Trodson of Eliot, Maine. All three are producers of the film. Seacoast musician Jeff Auger scored the production, and three well-known Seacoast actors star in it: Bernie Tato leads off as Beatty Walsh, Kristan Raymond Robinson plays Lee, and Tim Robinson performs the role of Doug. "To say too much about the plot and story would be to give it away," Trodson noted in an e-mail. "But we all think it's a deeply satisfying look into the lives of these characters." Trodson says the film has already been submitted to the Nantucket Film Festival, where it will be screened in June if it's accepted. The show at the Strand starts at 7 p.m. and will last about an hour. There will be an introduction by the director, and after the film there will be a Q&A with the film's creators. Admission is $5. The Strand is located on Third Street , Dover.
