Following a recent screening at the San Sebastian Film Festival in Spain and an earlier showing at the Sao Paulo festival, the New Hampshire-made “Sensation of Sight,” produced by Either/Or Films and starring David Strathairn (“Good Night, and Good Luck”) will have its U.S. premiere at the 29th Starz Denver Film Festival on Nov. 10.
The feature-length drama is the story of a man’s search for meaning amidst the ache of despair. The story, written and directed by Aaron Wiederspahn, is set in a small town and the film was shot entirely in Peterborough last fall. First-time director Wiederspahn is a finalist for the Emerging Filmmaker Award in Denver.
On Saturday, Nov. 11, the festival will host a press conference for the film, and will also honor one of its stars, actor Scott Wilson (“In Cold Blood,” “In the Heat of the Night,” “Dead Man Walking,” “Junebug”).
In addition to Strathairn and Wilson, “The Sensation of Sight” cast also includes Ian Somerhalder (“Lost”), Daniel Gillies (“Superman 2”), Jane Adams (“Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”), and Ann Cusack (“Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil”), among others.
The film is the first Strathairn has taken on as co-producer. The film’s other producer is Brentwood resident Mark Constance, who’s worked as assistant director on a range of projects, from “Party of Five” to “Charlie’s Angels” and “Mission Impossible: II.”
