Ward 3B Councilor
Rick Healy
Age: 46
Rochester res. 23 yrs.
Occupation: machinist
Public Experience: City Councilor

-If elected, what is the top goal you would like to see accomplished?

My goal is for repairing the infrastructure, basically the roads, getting them repaired. And, hopefully, renegotiating the Waste Management contract.

-What kinds of new businesses would you like to see in Rochester?

Industrial.

-How much do you think the city should invest in the Riverwalk project, to connect the northern and southern sections of the city?

The city, in the beginning, had said that the city will not invest any more than it had already, which was $50,000. So far, to this date, no other monies from the city have been spent, and that’s the way I’m planning on keeping it.

-Would you support a request from the Police Department to add more fulltime officers to its staff?

I would support them, yes.

-What would you do to promote the arts in Rochester and support the city’s growing artistic community?

Other than showing up every chance I get … I have volunteered a couple times for the Opera House, and that’s pretty much all I can do is volunteer when given the opportunity.

-What is your favorite event at the Rochester Fair?

The Demolition Derby.
