Ward 4B candidate Geoffrey Hamman
Age: 30
Years living in Rochester: whole life except Marine Corps
Occupation: work at Pratt and Whitney in North Berwick
Public experience: none

-If elected, what is the top goal you would like to see accomplished?

Basically, one of my big concerns is, I believe this city is going to grow at an outrageous rate, and I really want to see the infrastructure grow prior to the growth of the city.

-What kinds of new businesses would you like to see in Rochester?

I am open to all businesses. I'm not set on any, whatsoever.

-How much do you think the city should invest in the Riverwalk project, to connect the northern and southern sections of the city?

If you're looking for specific dollar amounts, I don't have that. But, I would say roughly 20 percent to the total cost. I think the city should definitely add something to that, but not absorb the whole cost.

-Would you support a request from the Police Department to add more fulltime officers to its staff?

I would love that.

-What would you do to promote the arts in Rochester and support the city's growing artistic community?

I don't really know how I would support the arts. I'm not against any form of artistic expression, but I'm not a very artistic person myself. I would go along with someone who might seem to know what they're talking about.

-What is your favorite event at the Rochester Fair?

I actually enjoy the horse racing. I really enjoy bringing the kids and watching the kids have fun, but on a personal level, I like going to the races with my wife and running into people I haven't seen for awhile.
