-If elected, what is the top goal you would like to see
accomplished?
To keep Rochester
moving forward, always striving for a city government better at delivering
services in an efficient and cost effective manner. The focus must be on customer
service throughout all city departments.
-What kinds of new businesses would you like to see in
Rochester?
New businesses such
as retail, small manufacturing, professional offices and hospitality are all
increasingly showing an interest in Rochester.
In addition, I fully support the Main Street efforts to attract more
restaurants and small retail establishments to the downtown district.
-How much do you think the city should invest in the
Riverwalk project, to connect the northern and southern sections of the city?
The City has
invested both dollars and time in the Riverwalk project to get it started. Now, private interests are stepping up to
the plate, and grant monies need to be obtained to continue the process. Hats
off to the great group of volunteers who continue to move this project forward.
This is an effort that will further support the downtown businesses.
-Would you support a request from the Police Department
to add more fulltime officers to its staff?
I recently supported
the addition of two new police officer positions to start on Jan. 1, 2008.
-What would you do to promote the arts in Rochester and
support the city’s growing artistic community?
During my past term
on the Council, I served on the Cultural Master Plan Committee. I am an avid supporter of the arts community,
having just recently volunteered at the Opera House telethon. Support for the
arts community is another key component of our downtown development and quality
of life in Rochester.
